Growing up in a very religious household impacted both Selah and I in terms of our relationship to food, body, and sex.
This conversation is RAW, authentic, and just two gals sharing their experience with finding food and body liberation.
We are in no means saying anything bad about religion, the people in religion, or the principles that religion stands for. Rather we are simply sharing how WE interpreted some of the teachings and how the religious culture affected us.
The juicy topics discussed today are;
*Being taught that we must hide our body from men
*Feeling shame for being a women and menstruating
*Being told not to ‘know’ our bodies and how that lead to disconnect
*Tapping into our sexual nature
*Finding pleasure can lead to satiation and better relationship with food
*Relaxing into what the body wants
*Trusting your intuition
*Releasing labels with food, religion, and other ideologies
*How sex and our relationship with body affects our ability to receive food
I hope that you find this podcast interesting and potentially eye opening if you too grew up in a religious household. Again, we are not saying to leave your religion, rather be aware of the things you have been taught and if they serve you.
