Extreme Hunger

GIVE ME THE FOOD!!

Food was the only thing I could think about for a couple days as my body went through this extreme desire for food, even though I had just eaten a good amount of food.

So I ate and ate and ate and ate until this feeling of, ” GIVE ME THE FOOD!” went away. As I trusted my body and listened to what it wanted, I found that this insatiable desire to eat a lot of food diminished.

Although it may seem like a scary thing and to be honest the thing your eating disorder fears the most, extreme hunger is nothing to be scared about. This is a natural response that your body activates in response to starvation.

One thing that I want to be clear about is that extreme hunger IS NOT BINGING. So stop worrying that your body is going to forever feel crazy around food and that you’re going to now develop another eating disorder. As you get your body out of a state of malnutrition and stop restricting your appetite will return back to normal.

So what can you do about extreme hunger? The best thing to do it to listen to your body, trust that it needs all this food, and have fun eating all the stuff that you previously banned yourself from.

I had a fun time eating banana bread, chocolate ice cream, cheese boards, fresh bread, butter, butter, butter… oh and more butter😋
